Why not Come and See?

Why not?  Are you wondering if God may be calling you to religious life? Would it be helpful to be with other women who are going through some of the same challenges as you? Could you use some tools for your discernment? Would you like to do this in a prayerful setting?

We Monroe IHM Sisters will be holding our Spring Come and See weekend May 13-15. For more information and to contact us please visit our Come and See page.

Dreaming

Last week I asked Sr. Agnes Anderson (“All that Glitters,” posted 6/29/09) with whom I live what she would share with a person discerning religious life. She reflected on it and the next day as we took a walk she shared with me what had surfaced as she reflected on my question.  It took her about 40 minutes to share her thoughts so I asked her if she might condense them into about 3 minutes! Amazingly she did.

Celebrate Vocations to Religious Life

Happy Vocations Awareness Week! For all of you who are discerning a religious vocation, know that you are receiving extra prayer support these days.  Every day at Mass this week the lector will pray a special petition for you and each day one of the discerners I know will be mentioned by first name in the liturgy. In addition ,at Vespers in the evening the sisters will pray a vocation prayer for you. If you’d like to be prayed for by name I’ll be happy to add your name to one day’s petitions, and I’ll let you know what day you’ll be prayed for. Why not let two hundred sisters add to your prayer support?! Respond below or email me at mbkeeley@ihmsisters.org.
This week I’m going to ask a few of the “pros” here at the Motherhouse to give you suggestions for traveling on the sacred journey of discernment.
Though I posted this first video last March It bears repeating. I love Sr. Joyce’s aliveness and wisdom. Does she say anything that strikes a chord in you?
